In November 2024, the Ronald McDonald Foundation, marking its 30th anniversary, launched a heartfelt campaign in France under the banner Having your family close by makes you stronger. Created by TBWA\Paris, this 360° communications campaign spans TV, print, and digital media, aiming to deepen public awareness of the Foundation’s mission to support families of hospitalised children. Central to the campaign is an animated film titled Tout Proche (Very Close), directed by Juan Pablo Machado, renowned for his creation of the iconic Lofi Girl character. Machado’s signature Japanese-influenced animation style sensitively portrays the emotional and physical journey of Léo from his home to the hospital room, striking a delicate balance between the harsh realities of paediatric hospitalization and the tender support families provide. For three decades, the Ronald McDonald Foundation has dedicated itself to ensuring that no child in hospital feels isolated from family. Its network includes 10 Parents’ Houses located within five minutes of children’s hospitals, alongside the unique Parenthèse welcoming space at Arras Hospital, which together offer comforting proximity to children undergoing medical treatment.
