Magnum Remixed

The Magnum Remixed campaign strategically leverages the brand’s reputation for indulgence by aligning its new product launch with a culturally resonant music collaboration, reinforcing Magnum’s identity as a premium, creative disruptor in the confectionery market. By remixing the 2001 Kylie Minogue hit “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” with South Korean DJ Peggy Gou’s contemporary influences, the campaign conveys a value proposition centered on reinvention and sensory innovation—paralleling the remixing of a classic song with the introduction of new Magnum Remix ice cream flavors inspired by Magnum’s iconic classics. This fusion underscores Magnum’s promise to offer consumers a fresh yet familiar experience that honors heritage while embracing modern creativity. The campaign’s market strategy pivots on tapping into both nostalgia and modern cultural trends, particularly targeting younger, digitally engaged consumers who appreciate music and visual culture. The collaboration with high-profile music artists and a Seoul-based illustrator reflects a conscious effort to bridge Western and Asian pop culture, widening global appeal. The Cannes Film Festival launch and a strong social media activation, especially on TikTok, use influencer-driven content and participatory elements like teaching the original dance to generate organic engagement and expand reach within younger demographics. This integrated approach effectively positions Magnum as an aspirational lifestyle brand by linking product innovation with dynamic cultural expression, fostering emotional connections that boost brand relevance in the competitive confectionery landscape.

FORMAT#8 ONGOING CHARACTERS OR CELEBRITIES — Uses a recurring personality or celebrity for brand recall. This Magnum campaign leverages the star power of legendary celebrities Kylie Minogue and Peggy Gou as the centerpiece of its creative device. Rather than telling a traditional product-driven story, solving a problem, or focusing on direct demonstration, the campaign centers around an innovative music collaboration and influencer presence, blending old and new iconography through renowned figures to build aspirational association and cultural relevance. The recurring use of inspiring, creative disruptor celebrities has become a hallmark of Magnum’s brand communications, and here the product is meaningfully linked to their persona, style, and appeal, making celebrity association the core creative format.
