Hej Hej Hej!

IKEA Poland’s 2024 holiday campaign, "Hej Hej Hej!," created by VML Warsaw, beautifully captures the essence of togetherness through a heartwarming commercial featuring an adorable dachshund. This Content, Digital, and Film media campaign spans multiple channels, including TV, online platforms, and selected cinemas, and seeks to inspire audiences to cultivate lasting, cozy holiday atmospheres within their homes. Central to the campaign’s message is the idea that the warmth and magic of the holidays can be embraced every day, thanks to IKEA’s thoughtfully designed products that cater to both functional and emotional needs. The commercial uses the lovable dog to evoke feelings of nostalgia and closeness, reminding viewers that the comfort of family and home is not reserved solely for special occasions but is something to be cherished year-round. Supporting this narrative, IKEA Poland has also launched an engaging holiday contest targeted at pet lovers and interior design enthusiasts, inviting participants to share photos of their pets enjoying IKEA furniture for a chance to win gift cards and be featured in the IKEA Family gallery. Through "Hej Hej Hej!," IKEA Poland effectively combines emotional storytelling with interactive community engagement to reinforce its brand promise of creating homes that nurture well-being and joy, extending the holiday spirit beyond the season and into everyday life.

IKEA Poland’s 2024 holiday campaign, “Hej Hej Hej!,” centers on the brand proposition of fostering a sense of warmth, comfort, and togetherness in the home not only during the holidays but throughout the year. By highlighting the emotional and functional aspects of its household products, IKEA positions itself as a facilitator of enduring cozy atmospheres that support both practical needs and emotional well-being. The campaign underscores the idea that holiday spirit and family closeness are accessible daily experiences, rather than limited to special occasions. The market strategy leverages the emotional resonance of holiday nostalgia combined with the universal appeal of pet companionship to deepen connection with the audience. Utilizing a heartwarming commercial starring a charming dachshund, the campaign taps into consumers' affection for pets and the familiar comfort of home life, aligning with lifestyle and household product categories. This creative angle humanizes the brand by associating IKEA products with intimate, relatable moments of family and pet interaction. Additionally, the multichannel approach—spanning TV, digital platforms, and cinemas—maximizes reach and engagement across varied touchpoints. The accompanying holiday contest further involves pet owners and interior design enthusiasts, encouraging user-generated content that integrates social proof and community participation. Together, these elements reflect an insight that consumers seek emotional as well as functional value in household products, especially during the holidays, and positions IKEA as a brand attuned to sustaining these values year-round.

FORMAT#9 SYMBOLIZE THE BENEFIT — Uses symbols or exaggerated visuals to represent the product’s positive impact. This IKEA campaign centers on a lovable dachshund embodying the warmth and nostalgia of holiday togetherness, serving as a symbolic representation of the brand’s promise: making comfort and closeness part of everyday home life. Rather than demonstrating features or solving an explicit problem, the dog and holiday moments evoke the emotional benefit IKEA brings—coziness, belonging, and joy enabled by their products—rendered through charming, metaphorical visuals. The commercial’s emotional effect comes through this symbolization, not literal storytelling or direct comparison.
