If you are a deep practitioner of the media capabilities of the 2026 world, then you would be aware that a brand needs about 20,000 unique pieces of content per year for different demographics, psychographics etc.
That's 19,900 more than what most big brands actually put out. And if you understand how the Googles, Facebooks, Snapchats and Instagrams work, then you would know that your creative teams will have to deliver a lot more video centric content to fill the pipes of media distribution than they currently are doing.
That's why we've created Clapboard - to produce quality video content at a low enough cost. Quality being contextual to the social media platform, not necessarily high production, thus delivering the best bang for your every buck

HOT ONES
Description
HOT ONES is a dynamic and integrated campaign launched in France in November 2024 for McDonald’s by TBWA\Paris, designed to bring the thrilling spicy challenge of the CANAL+ show Hot Ones directly to consumers. Capitalizing on the viral appeal of celebrity guests tackling progressively spicy sauces while answering fiery questions, this collaboration cleverly bridges entertainment and dining by introducing, for the first time in France, exclusive McDonald’s X Hot Ones sauces. Co-created by McDonald’s and the Hot Ones team, these three uniquely crafted sauces vary in intensity according to the Scoville scale, inviting fans to elevate their Chicken McNuggets™ or Veggie McPlant Nuggets™ experience in-store or at home. Beyond the product launch, the campaign enhances consumer engagement through an interactive experience available on the McDo+ app, where users can challenge themselves with spicy questions split into three escalating levels, mirroring the sauce intensity. Additionally, a physical game accessible via McDonald’s social media channels further amplifies audience participation and social sharing. The campaign also features a special "on fire" interview with artist Naza, hosted by Kyan, showcasing the intense flavor journey tied to the brand collaboration. Supported by a robust digital media strategy, the campaign leverages multi-platform content distribution including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, alongside sponsorship across TV, digital, and social channels to effectively reach core target audiences on affinity platforms. This initiative represents an innovative fusion of pop culture and food marketing, creating an original, immersive experience and positioning McDonald’s as a bold leader in the chicken segment while satisfying the growing consumer appetite for playful, authentic, and share-worthy brand interactions. Developed with strategic partners Publicis Media Content, Starcom France, and LA FACTORY from CANAL+ BRAND SOLUTIONS, HOT ONES successfully unlocks a new dimension of flavor and entertainment for French consumers.

Campaign Proposition
The McDonald’s “HOT ONES” campaign leverages a unique collaboration with the popular CANAL+ show Hot Ones to extend the brand’s leadership in the chicken segment by offering an exclusive, immersive experience centered around spicy flavors. The campaign’s core proposition is to bring the iconic Hot Ones hot sauce experience—previously unavailable in France—to McDonald’s customers through three exclusive, co-created sauces that vary in heat according to the Scoville scale. This partnership introduces a new dimension of engagement by merging the thrill of fiery flavors with interactive content, enabling consumers to replicate the show’s intense, spicy challenge with McDonald's Chicken McNuggets™ or Veggie McPlant Nuggets™ both in-store and at home.
Strategically, the campaign capitalizes on the cultural currency of Hot Ones’ viral format and celebrity appeal, tapping into a consumer desire to participate in trending, experiential eating moments. The insight that consumers crave authentic, shareable experiences informs the creative direction, which combines product innovation with digital interactivity—spicy trivia accessible through the McDo+ app and social media contests enhance engagement. Targeting focuses on younger, trend-conscious urban audiences active on social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, who are drawn to bold flavors and culturally resonant experiences. The integrated media plan, including digital, TV, and social sponsorship, ensures broad reach while precision targeting maximizes relevance. Ultimately, the campaign positions McDonald’s not just as a convenient food provider, but as a gateway to culturally significant, participatory experiences that blend entertainment with consumption.
Creative Device
FORMAT#12 PARODY OR BORROWED FORMAT — Uses or parodies pop culture formats like films, shows, or genres.
This campaign is best classified as “Parody or Borrowed Format” because it directly adopts the structure, excitement, and cultural cachet of the popular Hot Ones interview show—a media property famous for celebrities answering questions while tasting increasingly spicy sauces. The narrative emphasizes the direct replication and extension of this pop culture phenomenon, integrating its rituals (sauces, heat levels, spicy questions, celebrity participation) into the McDonald’s product experience. The creative device is not a mere endorsement or story but an overt borrowing of a unique entertainment signifier, made newly accessible to French McDonald’s customers.
